Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team at S-5!. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and services necessary for our operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of supply chain management. The Purchasing Manager will collaborate with various departments to optimize inventory levels, manage vendor relationships, and implement effective purchasing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/or special tools; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required; maintains close coordination with plant engineering and facilities management to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Secures and analyzes inventory, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material needs based on production schedules.
- Coordinates the planning of recent schedules and inventory control parameters for the assigned products and services consistent with ERP requirements or as arranged with requisitions.
- Ensure that all purchasing activities adhere to budgetary constraints and quality standards.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Strong skills in contract negotiation and vendor management.
- Product knowledge and familiarity as well as experience in a manufacturing job shop preferred but not necessary.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across departments.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices and principles is essential.
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
