Software Engineering Manager (Architecture Experience a Plus)

We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager who can bring execution discipline and technical leadership to our development organization. You’ll own delivery timelines, mentor a talented but relatively green team, and drive feature execution. If you also bring system architecture experience, you’ll help shape the technical foundation for scalability and AI integration.
Responsibilities
Execution & Delivery
- Lead the engineering team (developers, CMS, QA) to consistently deliver features on time.
- Manage sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Enforce accountability, track progress, and resolve blockers quickly.
- Team Leadership
- Directly manage engineers and team leads, fostering a culture of ownership and growth.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and coaching to level up junior and mid-level developers.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UI/UX, and Creative teams to align deliverables.
Technical Oversight
- Partner with the CTO on technical vision and roadmap alignment.
- Participate in code reviews, enforce quality standards, and ensure best practices in development.
- If experienced, contribute as a System Architect: design scalable, maintainable systems and guide technical trade-offs.
Process & Quality
- Drive Agile best practices, ensuring sprint discipline and predictable delivery.
- Work with QA to validate features, improve testing processes, and ensure release quality.
- Balance feature development with technical debt management.
Our Tech Environment
We run a modern mobile + cloud stack: React Native (mobile), .NET/C# (backend), and Azure (cloud infrastructure) with supporting services for subscriptions, payments (App Store / Google Play), and AI integrations.
Our stack is established, and we are not looking to change core technologies. Candidates must be comfortable leading teams within this environment. However, we welcome applicants with adjacent experience (e.g., native iOS/Android leading React Native teams, Java/Go/Node leading .NET teams, or AWS/GCP migrating to Azure) if they are confident in adapting quickly and guiding teams in our existing stack.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in an engineering management or team leadership role.
- Proven track record of delivering software on schedule in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management skills (Agile, Scrum) with hands-on sprint experience.
- Solid technical foundation (frontend, backend, or full-stack) and ability to engage in architectural discussions.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
- Comfortable leading and mentoring less experienced engineers.
- Bonus: Experience with system architecture, SaaS subscriptions, or AI/ML integrations.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
