Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and organized Assistant Director to join our leadership team at our licensed child care center. The ideal candidate will help manage the day-to-day operations of the center, support lead teachers, and ensure compliance with OCFS (Office of Children and Family Services) regulations. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in early childhood education—or someone ready to grow into leadership, as we’re willing to train the right candidate!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director in overseeing daily operations of the child care center
- Supervise and support lead teachers and classroom staff
- Review and approve lesson plans to ensure alignment with developmentally appropriate practices
- Ensure full compliance with all OCFS regulations and health/safety standards
- Manage staff schedules, time-off requests, and classroom coverage
- Foster a positive and professional work environment that encourages collaboration and staff development
- Maintain open communication with families, staff, and regulatory agencies
- Step into classrooms as needed to support staff and maintain ratios
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is required
- Experience in early childhood education or child care center operations is preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn OCFS regulations
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and a team-player mindset
- Must pass background check and meet all health and safety requirements

Position Summary:
The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, CDA or a related field (preferred)

- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).
- Must meet all state licensing requirements including background check and fingerprint clearance.
