Benefits Manager
The Benefits Manager is hands-on, a self-starter, enjoys multitasking, is flexible, and is passionate about the opportunity to work with highly motivated, skilled professionals in a government-contracting environment. The Benefits Manager shall possess a comprehensive background in all aspects of Corporate and employee benefit programs and possess the thorough knowledge of related Federal and State laws and regulations.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Administration and oversight of employee benefits plans to include, medical, dental, life, AD&D, LTD, retirement plans, 401(k), educational/tuition assistance, FSA, EAP, and paid leave plans.
- Administration of the company’s annual open enrollment, including writing updates to SPD’s and other benefits booklets, and communicating changes in the plan types and/or employee premiums.
- Reconciling annual and monthly insurance bills of employee benefits for timely payment.
- Administration of Corporate insurance programs to include the submission and investigation of claims, the review of risk management and future assessment of risk mitigation.
- Ensuring compliance with all related laws and regulations to include: ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, ADA and other federal and state legislation.
- Coordinating the administration and providing communication to employees about the company's 401(k) plan. Prepares annual audit information, ensures timely completion of 5500 report, and processes company matching contribution.
- Strong working knowledge of overseeing government contracts Health and Welfare programs.
- Responding to employee inquiries on compensation and benefits programs, which may involve conducting research, analyzing alternatives, and communicating resolutions.
- Working knowledge to advise company direction on legislation to include the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least seven (7) years of benefit program management experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years in a benefits Manager role, with at least five (5) years of total experience in a Management or leadership role.
- Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification preferred, but not required.
- Successful track record in setting corporate strategic direction as a Benefits Manager in a government contracting environment.
- Past experience and comfort in working in a fast-paced, ever-changing business environment.
- Strong analytical and research skills; well organized, and a self-starter.
- Strong customer service and presentation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Desired Qualifications:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Proven experience with ADP Workforce Now.
