About the Role
A growing organization in the financial services sector is seeking a highly motivated Collections Manager to oversee and drive the performance of its third-party collections team. This leadership role requires someone who can balance hands-on negotiation skills, decisive management, and operational oversight to achieve exceptional recovery results.
Responsibilities
- Actively engage in collections calls to model best practices and close complex accounts.
- Provide timely decisions, feedback, and direction to staff to keep accounts progressing.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of reporting, documentation, and administrative tasks.
- Train, coach, and hold team members accountable to performance and compliance standards.
- Monitor KPIs, analyze results, and adjust strategies to meet or exceed recovery goals.
- Handle escalated accounts, negotiate settlements, and resolve disputes quickly.
- Maintain compliance with all industry regulations and ensure professional, ethical communication.
- Collaborate across departments to resolve accounts efficiently.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial collections experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Demonstrated track record of successful phone negotiation and recoveries.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong grammar and professional presence.
- Proven ability to make timely, effective decisions and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with collection systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
