RANGE: $70,000 to $80,000REPORTS TO: Director of Finance ADDITIONAL REPORTING: Executive Dir., General Manager The National Arts Club (NAC), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization with approximately 1,950 members, seeks an organized and experienced Junior Accountant to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Junior Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations, accounts receivable, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, audits, tax filings, and financial controls. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. This is a full-time, on-site position. QUALIFICATIONS: Education OR EQUIVALENT ExperienceBachelor’s degree in accounting or related major.Experience in a private club, 501c3 organization, or other membership organization preferred. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & TASKS:Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely.Prepare & review journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliationsPrepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and ad hoc financial analyses.Reconcile bank accounts and assist with cash forecasting and cash management.Respond to member billing and account inquiries in a timely, professional manner, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed, payment applications, adjustments, and reconciliation of balances.Support the Catering department with event billing, invoicing, deposits, credits, payment tracking, and reconciliation of payments received as needed and are accurately recorded and billed.Review and reconcile food and beverage inventories in coordination with operational management.Assist with preparation for the Club’s annual external audit and 990.Support the annual operating and capital budgeting processes and related financial reporting.Assist with required tax payments, statutory filings, licenses, permits, and registrations.Work with the Director of Finance to maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and financial systems.Prepare additional financial and capital project reporting as requested. COLLABORATION & Exceptional ServiceMaintain positive and professional working relationships with employees, management, members, vendors, and other stakeholders.Contribute to a collaborative, service-oriented Finance department & support Club initiatives as needed. ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Provide Finance or administrative coverage as needed.Perform other duties reasonably assigned by the Director of Finance.Maintain flexibility to work occasional additional hours when required to meet deadlines. IMPORTANT NOTES:This position is Monday-Friday but may require occasion flexibility for coverage or other times deemed necessary by the Director of Finance.All employees are required to fully comply with the Club’s Employee Handbook and any future updates (furnished upon employment acceptance).
