Green Valley Landscaping is an established and growing landscape, construction, excavation, and snow management company serving the Hudson Valley. We have built our reputation on quality work, dependable service, and long-term customer relationships.
We are seeking an exceptional General Manager / Director of Operations to oversee the day-to-day operation of the company. This individual will work directly with the owner and ultimately become responsible for leading the business, managing employees, driving profitability, and ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day operations of the business.
- Manage lawn maintenance, landscaping, hardscaping, excavation, fencing, drainage, construction, and snow & ice management operations.
- Lead and supervise multiple field crews and office personnel.
- Work effectively with a predominantly Spanish-speaking workforce. Spanish is highly preferred but not required.
- Ensure all scheduled lawn and landscape services are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
- Schedule crews, equipment, subcontractors, and materials.
- Visit job sites daily to monitor quality, productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare estimates and proposals.
- Perform material takeoffs and job planning.
- Review job costs and maximize profitability.
- Track employee productivity, labor hours, equipment usage, and project performance.
- Manage customer relationships and professionally resolve issues.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Oversee fleet, equipment, shop operations, and preventative maintenance through the maintenance team.
- Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and develop employees.
- Hold employees accountable while fostering a positive, team-oriented culture.
- Improve systems, processes, efficiency, and profitability throughout the organization.
- Assist crews in the field when necessary and lead by example.
- Perform any additional responsibilities necessary to ensure the successful operation and continued growth of the company.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of management experience in landscaping, construction, excavation, site work, snow management, or a related industry.
- Proven experience leading multiple crews and managing numerous projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Experience estimating projects and understanding plans and specifications.
- Ability to read project plans and manage projects from start to finish.
- Comfortable using computers, scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and business management software.
- Strong financial awareness, including budgeting, job costing, and profitability.
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- CDL is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a major advantage.
