56 HENRY is seeking a full-time Gallery Director. This is an on-site, senior-facing role suited to a confident, self-directed individual who is comfortable working independently in the space and at art fairs. The Gallery Director will collaborate closely with the gallery’s team to achieve sales objectives, represent the gallery at art fairs and events, and serve as a key ambassador for the program. The ideal candidate brings an established network of domestic and international collectors, existing relationships with artists and curators, and a demonstrated ability to cultivate new client and artist relationships. Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Client Development - Work with the gallery’s team to meet and exceed sales goals - Maintain and grow relationships with established collectors and institutional relationships - Support artist relations and contribute to long-term artist development and market growth - Represent the gallery at art fairs, openings, and industry eventsExhibitions & Project Management - Support the Registrar in scheduling and coordinating exhibition logistics with artists’ studios, including organize opening receptions, events, and dinners - Ensure clear communication between departments and gallery locations; act as an intermediary to disseminate key information- Support the Gallery Associate with application to art fairs and subsequent acquisition opportunities - Consistently conduct studio visits, proven ability to build rapport with artistsQualificationsMinimum of 5 years’ experience in a gallery, auction house, or as a private dealerStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating with a broader teamProficiency in Artlogic is preferred but not requiredExisting sales contacts and passion for making sales
