Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the dietary department, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to food safety standards.
- Oversee meal preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high-quality culinary standards.
- Plan and develop menus that cater to diverse dietary needs while incorporating fine dining elements.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on best practices in food handling, preparation, and presentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate catering services for events and special occasions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests and addressing any dietary concerns or requests.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in the food service industry, particularly in dietary or culinary roles.
- Strong background in menu planning, meal preparation, and fine dining experiences.
- Excellent knife skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Previous experience as a dietary aide or in a similar position is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while leading by example.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food service operations.
