I am looking for an extremely motivated, passionate, and reliable animal lover to handle the day to day operation of an independent pet supply store in the village of Saugerties.
Applicant must be comfortable:
- Providing excellent customer service
- Working alone
- Appropriately recommending products based on customer needs
- Learning about many angles of pet nutrition and the unique characteristics of each product we carry to be able to best provide solutions for pet owners
- Interacting with animals
- Be comfortable with basic math; price comparisons are common in this field
- Securely opening and closing the business
- Handling cash & counting change
- Using an iPad & Square register
- Putting away product deliveries, comparing against invoices, and reporting damages
- Carrying up to 40lb
- Keeping the store clean and tidy
- Cleaning the sidewalk during inclement weather
- Assisting the owner to generate purchase orders
- Keeping track of/making sure special orders on a schedule are reordered appropriately
- Other day to day tasks as they arise
Manger will be responsible for making sure business is open and has coverage during posted business hours.
Store manager will be eligible for monthly bonus incentive based on the store's year over year performance as long as certain criteria is met.
3 paid holidays off, 2 eligible for time and a half.
Vacation days eligible after 1 year.
