Menla’s holistic Dewa Spa in Phoenicia, NY. is looking for a new Spa Manager to start with us right away.
Work in the beautiful Tibet-inspired health spa on a stunning 330 acre property. Dewa Spa has eleven treatment rooms, Finnish and Far-Infrared saunas, steam rooms, rain showers with jets, Tibetan herbal soaking tubs, an Ayurvedic room, a couples massage room, and a relaxation room.
We are looking for a manager with an outgoing disposition, good sense of organization, and a friendly professional demeanor. Must be detail oriented with at least 5 years of hospitality or spa-focused customer service and administrative experience. Our ideal candidate can maintain an atmosphere of peace and warmth, while being flexible and adaptive in all situations.
Please note that although this position is in a healing environment it is fast paced and dynamic. Candidates should enjoy working with people from all walks of life and in different stages of their personal journeys.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversight of therapist schedules, spa staff and other spa focused personnel
- Management and daily oversight of booking software and public communications such as email and phone.
- Management and oversight of POS and BEO including and not limited to knowledge of multiple software systems and internal systems.
- Assist team with daily flow such as treatment room setups, booking, general housekeeping needs, guest check-in and out ect.
- Ensuring the best possible flow for therapist needs, schedules and communication.
- Field new potential therapists and support staff with Spa Director
- Ongoing staff and therapist training
- Coordination with other departments as needed: housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen, Front desk
- Oversight of spa housekeeper and laundry.
- Purchasing and Inventory management
- Willingness to learn herbal oils, bath mixtures, coordination with garden team to harvest herbs for medicinals and Tibetan therapies.
- Spa marketing through Boulevard software, Dewa spa IG and coordination with Menla marketing team.
- Coordination with the Managing director and Operations director to ensure proper budgetary projections, growth of spa related initiatives such as our integrative wellness program.
- Update and refine menu and packages to keep current and updated
Compensation: $25-$27 an hour DOE; vacation and holiday PTO package; access to free yoga, meditation and Menla programming when available; discounts on bodywork and store items; vegetarian, locally-sourced staff shift meal when guest buffet is open, and use of facilities including hiking, a state of the art gym and seasonal pool. Housing available for the right candidate.
