What we need:
Riverview Landscapes is seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and manage all safety, health, and environmental programs across our landscaping operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements while fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization. The EHS Manager will work closely with leadership, supervisors, and field crews to promote safe work practices and reduce risk across all job sites. This candidate must be based in the Northeast in either NY, NJ, MA, or CT and will work both remote as well as visiting our branches in the Northeast frequently.
What you'll do:
- Develop, implement, and manage Riverview Landscapes’ Environmental, Health & Safety programs and policies
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations
- Manage OSHA reporting, recordkeeping, and incident investigations (OSHA 300, 300A, 301 logs, etc.)
- Conduct regular job site safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to reduce injuries, incidents, and property damage
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for new hires and existing employees, including toolbox talks and ongoing education
- Schedule, lead, and document monthly safety calls/meetings with crews and management
- Maintain accurate safety records, training documentation, incident reports, and audit results
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety concerns; prepare reports and follow-up actions
- Collaborate with management to improve safety performance and accountability at all levels
- Support environmental compliance initiatives related to landscaping operations (equipment, chemicals, fuel handling, etc.)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inspections, audits, and regulatory inquiries
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field (preferred)
- 3+ years of EHS experience, preferably in landscaping, construction, or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards
- Experience conducting safety training and job site audits
- Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with field crews and leadership
- Ability to travel to multiple job sites as needed, overnight travel may be needed 4-6 nights a month
- OSHA certification(s) or safety credentials (preferred but not required)
- Ability to visit active landscaping job sites and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to walk job sites, climb in and out of vehicles, and observe work activities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
