Through exhibitions, art fairs, and cross-cultural collaborations, GOCA aims to bridge cultural value with the global art market.We are seeking a Gallery Manager to oversee gallery operations, inventory systems, and digital platforms, including Artlogic, Artsy, and the gallery website, while supporting marketing and outreach initiatives.ResponsibilitiesGallery Operations- Oversee daily gallery operations, including opening/closing, visitor reception, and exhibition upkeep- Coordinate exhibition preparation, installation, and deinstallation- Act as a primary point of contact for artists, collectors, curators, and external vendors- Support sales operations, including invoicing, contracts, and payment follow-ups- Manage logistics and operations for exhibitions, art fairs and off-site events- Supervise interns and support staff as needed- Communicate regularly with the gallery’s Japan-based team in EnglishInventory Management- Maintain accurate and up-to-date artwork inventory records across exhibitions, storage, and off-site locations- Manage artwork data including titles, dimensions, media, editions, pricing, and availability- Track consignments, loans, sales, and artwork movement- Prepare price lists, checklists, inventory reports, and internal documentation- Ensure consistency between physical inventory and digital recordsArtlogic & Artsy Management (similar online platform)- Manage and maintain the gallery’s Artlogic database, including artworks, contacts, consignments, and sales records- Upload, update, and organize artwork listings on Artsy- Coordinate image assets, captions, pricing, and availability for online platforms- Monitor Artsy inquiries and ensure timely follow-ups- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across Artlogic, Artsy, and internal systemsMarketing & Communications- Support marketing initiatives for exhibitions, openings, and special events- Manage and update social media content (primarily Instagram)- Assist with newsletters, mailing lists, and basic CRM management- Coordinate with external PR, design, and marketing partners- Track basic performance metrics such as engagement and attendanceQualificationsRequired- Minimum 3 years of experience in an art gallery or similar cultural institution- Proven experience with gallery inventory management systems (Artlogic or similar)- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English- High attention to detail and strong organizational skillsPreferred- Experience managing Artsy listings and online inquiries- Experience updating and managing CMS-based websites- Experience working in a New York–based gallery- Japanese or Asian language skills (not required)- Strong interest in Japanese and Asian contemporary artEmployment Details- Employment Type: Full-time- Location: Chelsea, New York- Salary: Commensurate with experience (estimated range: $75,000–$85,000 annually)- Start Date: Flexible- Probationary period may applyHow to ApplyPlease submit a resume and brief cover letter in English.Send applications to: okada.akinori@garde-intl.comOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
