291 Agency is a visual artist agency formed by experienced art world professionals that have historically worked in traditional systems. Together, we’ve created a multi-disciplinary artist talent agency for our changing industry. We provide tailor-made resources—strategy, consulting, project support, brand collaborations, museum relations, and more—to help artists embark upon and succeed in their independent ventures. Responsibilities may include:Assist Senior Agent on daily tasks and agency needs Conduct and organize research for artist-related projects and pitchesSynthesize research findings into appropriate presentations and documentsCreate and maintain artist presentation decks and similar materials to ensure up-to-date artist detailsWrite, compile, and edit art-related texts for presentations and press releases for external useAssist and complete various applications for agency artists (grants, exhibitions, residencies, etc.), keeping track of the status as needed Support operational tasks, including database management, contact tracking, and internal notesImage editing, file saving, and digital asset organization as neededCreate spreadsheets to track artworks, auction results, and similar informationManaging the shared office space, including basic coordination and upkeepPosition details:Schedule: 15 - 29 hours a weekThe position is fully in office, without the option for remote workYou must be authorized to work in the United StatesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in art history or a closely related fieldCurrent Masters student or degree a plus Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Sheets)Basic image editing skills (Photoshop)Strong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities independentlyPrior experience in an art gallery, arts administration, or art historical research is a plus
