POSITION: Lead Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)
SUPERVISED BY: Operations Manager
We are a reputable behavioral health company with a dual-diagnosis location that is looking for some assistance in operations. The Lead Behavioral Health Technician at our company will help clients in their daily activities and ensure a safe, clean environment of care. In addition, you will be responsible for managing BHTs on the team.
*Must have detox experience. Must be familiar with emails and be able to communicate effectively. Must be a good leader and good team member.*
SHIFT: 2nd shift 3pm - 11pm
SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION:
● Collects urine specimens for drug screens and pregnancy tests, takes vital signs; accurately records the results in the medical record and reports results to nursing.
● Anticipates and responds to client needs, including crisis intervention, and restores and maintains a safe, secure environment.
● Assists clients with participation in therapeutic and recreational activities.
● Observes clients (inpatient) every 15 – 30 minutes and documents findings on observation records. Performs room safety checks every shift and provides 1 to 1 observation as assigned.
● Through direct care, observation, and communication with the client collects and documents behavioral, physical, and other clinical data in shift reports.
● Reports changes in behavior, safety concerns, and crisis situations and seeks assistance from a supervisor or treatment team (nurse, clinician, provider).
● Completes searches of clients and belongings upon admission and random searches as needed for safety.
● Assists with the intake process for new clients and orients them to the facility.
● Assists with AMA interventions (leaving treatment against medical advice) when needed.
● Completes incident reports for all safety and security events and near misses.
● Provides emotional support to clients.
● Always maintains the confidentiality of patient records and complies with all state and federal confidentiality laws.
● Transports clients to and from clinical services, housing, specialists, outside appointments, peer recovery meetings/support groups, etc. as needed.
● Maintains an effective and courteous working relationship with patients and other staff members through the use of appropriate interpersonal skills.
● Provides information to clients about their rights and responsibilities, including grievance procedures.
● Develops and maintains appropriate boundaries with clients and complies with the “Code of Ethical Conduct”.
● Completes all required trainings at the time of hire and annually.
● Assists with other tasks as needed and within the documented level of competency.
● Adhere to organizational standards, policies, and procedures, and legal regulations.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
