The LPNis responsible foradministration of all medications and treatments (except those specificallydesignatedfor an RN) during their shift, according to the established medical and nursing care plan. Works under the direction of the Head/ ChargeNurse to provideoptimumnursing care to all residentsonthe unit.
- Continuously evaluates behavior, symptoms,reactionsand progress of residents and discusses findings withNurseManager/Charge Nurse.
- Administers and documents all medications according to established policies and procedures,physician'sorders, and Department of Health regulations.
- Performs all treatments according to physicians specific order and established policies and procedures.
- Discusses the need todiscontinueor changea medicationoftreatment with the Nurse Manager/ Charge Nurse.
- Orders prescribed medications, notifies pharmacy of discontinued medications: and ensures accuracy of medications and dosages when received from pharmacy.
