Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales and Events Manager to lead and execute group, banquet, and catering sales initiatives. This position is instrumental in meeting and exceeding revenue goals for the hotel, restaurant andvenue space, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and seamless event execution. Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales and Events Manager will play a critical role in driving sales, managing client relationships, and overseeing event planning and execution with autonomy and precision.
Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Generation:
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve and exceed assigned revenue goals for hotel group sales, banquets, and catering events.
- Actively up-sell and cross-sell hotel services to maximize revenue potential.
- Drive proactive sales efforts by prospecting and generating new leads through research, outreach, and leveraging industry connections.
- Represent Hotel Kinsley at industry tradeshows, conferences, and networking events to build brand presence, expand the client base, and generate qualified leads.
Event Planning & Execution:
- Answer leads in a timely and compelling manner to maximize closing ratios.
- Oversee all aspects of planning and detailing social and corporate events, including but not limited to meeting spaces, food & beverage, AV needs, attendee management, shipping materials, and budget oversight.
- Act as the primary liaison between clients and hotel departments to ensure client needs are met and events run seamlessly including contracting, BEOs, and billing.
Client Relations:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and foster repeat business.
- Finalize event details and requirements, ensuring clear communication with clients and colleagues to exceed expectations.
- Consistently solicit target clients to grow hotel’s market share.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Prepare and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), daily reports, and resumes to hotel departments, ensuring consistent and professional communication.
- Co-lead weekly Sales and BEO meeting review with GM and Restaurant Director.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless execution of events.
Operational Excellence:
- Monitor the progress of meetings and events, proactively addressing any issues or changes in plans.
- Conduct bill reviews with clients prior to final billing to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- The role requires a schedule that matches client demand. Hours will flex somewhat based on event execution and site inspection requirements; however, Sales and Events Manager will work on-site daily.
- Assist General Manager with forecasting of Group and Events Revenue.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong ability to work independently and autonomously while achieving set goals.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, management, and team members.
- Proficiency in event planning and detailing, including budget management, AV coordination, and attendee logistics.
- A commitment to providing seamless and memorable client experiences through proactive collaboration and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of sales CRM systems and hotel PMS systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in sales, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Demonstrated success in catering and group sales within a hotel or event venue setting.
- Proven track record in proactive sales strategies, including prospecting, lead generation, and new business development.
- Experience representing a hotel or venue at conferences, tradeshows, and industry networking events.
- Wedding event sales and operational experience preferred.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
