We are seeking capable, detail-oriented, and warm-hearted Family Assistant to help manage our daily home life. This is a dynamic, hands-on role that blends household management, personal assistance, childcare support, and systems organization. We are looking for someone who is deeply reliable, proactive, and passionate about creating a calm, functional, and joyful home environment.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate is a highly organized self-starter who can take initiative, anticipate needs, and operate with a high level of discretion and emotional intelligence. You will manage the day-to-day operations of both our weekday and weekend homes, coordinate with vendors and staff, support the children’s routines, and provide direct personal assistance to the principal. This role requires someone flexible, efficient, and fully invested in the wellbeing of the family and household.
Key Responsibilities
Household Operations & Management
- Daily cleaning and upkeep of all living spaces (sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, organizing, refreshing rooms)
- Maintain household laundry: wash, dry, fold, organize, and manage clothing and linens
- Keep pantry and fridge fully stocked with essential household staples and preferred grocery items
- Grocery shopping and household inventory management for both homes
- Reset homes for family transitions (e.g., preparing weekend house on Mondays
Childcare Support (Ages 4–11)
- Assist with transporting children to school, activities, and appointments
- Prepare daily snacks, bake regularly, and occasionally assist with light meals
- Organize and maintain children’s rooms, clothing, toys, and school supplies
- Support children’s routines and help maintain a nurturing environment
Personal Assistant Duties
- Prepare morning beverages and attend to personal needs of the principal throughout the day
- Shop for and wrap gifts, handle returns, and manage personal errands
- Book travel as needed and support event/holiday planning
- Handle incoming mail, shipping, and administrative task
Home Organization & Systems Management
- Declutter and reorganize spaces as needed (closets, kitchens, utility areas)
- Create and maintain visual systems for pantry restocking, wardrobe rotations, and seasonal transitions
- Manage composting and recycling programs in both homes
Property & Vendor Coordination
- Schedule and oversee service providers including housekeepers, landscapers, handymen, and deliveries
- Perform light inspections and ensure both homes are always guest/family-ready
- Biweekly maintenance of secondary office/tiny house as needed
Key Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in private household or similar role preferred
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities independently
- Trustworthy with a high level of discretion and professionalism
- Strong communication skills and ability to work harmoniously with family and other staff
- Child-friendly and experienced in supporting school-age children
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Schedule & Compensation:
- Monday–Friday, with occasional flexibility needed
- Compensation based on experience
