Job Summary:
You will engage primarily in clinical and educational activities with an
appropriate balance of administration and scholarly/academic
activities. Teaching of medical students and residents through an
administrative or academic role within the Department of Family
Medicine are expected. Appropriate administrative duties will include
participation in the decision-making process of the department. Other
duties include but are limited to: teaching and liaison activities with
other departments when appropriate, professional and personal
counseling of medical students, preparation and delivery of
appropriate lectures and seminars, and provision of direct patient
care through the department's medical service group. Overall
supervision is provided by the Chair of the Department of Family
Medicine, College of Medicine, SUNY Upstate Medical University.
ACTIVITIES: Anticipated clinical 80% including call, clinical care and
outside clinical obligations; 20% teaching residents or medical
students, and others who are present in our Department with a
primary emphasis on the broad spectrum of Family Medicine.
Participate in curriculum development and in the evaluation of
residents/medical students. Maintain updated lecture series and
materials needed to teach resident didactics or medical student
clinical skills and/or case studies curriculum. Other duties as directed
by the Chair of the Department of Family Medicine.
Minimum Qualifications:
Family Medicine MD/DO, NYS license, board-certified.
Preferred Qualifications:
Family Medicine MD/DO, NYS license, board-certified. 2-3 years
experience working in an outpatient Family Medicine practice
preferred
Work Days:
Generally M-F 8am-4:30pm some early morning or early evening meetings
