Job Summary:
The Internal Communications Writer will research, write, and edit engaging internal content including employee profiles, project spotlights, leadership messages, and cultural features. Conduct interviews with staff at all levels to capture authentic voices and human-interest stories. Collaborate with various departments to identify and prioritize key communications needs. Ensure consistency with brand voice, tone, and messaging across all platforms. Assist in writing internal newsletters, announcements, talking points, and internal content. Support large and small scale communications and change management efforts with clear, empathetic messaging. Meet weekly and monthly benchmarks for feature and enterprise content.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field and 5 years of experience in internal communications, journalism, corporate writing, or storytelling. Strong interviewing and narrative writing skills. Ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging content Familiarity with internal communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, etc.) Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Empathetic, curious, and able to connect with a wide range of personalities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in healthcare, education, tech, or nonprofit sectors, multimedia storytelling experience (video scripting, podcast writing, etc.). Familiarity with employee engagement strategies and tone-sensitive communication.
