Job Summary:
The Assistant to the Chief Diversity Officer is responsible for all administrative functions of the department of Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI). The position deals with highly confidential/sensitive information and will report to the Chief Diversity Officer. This position will act as the first point of contact for the office. Must appropriately and with sensitivity handle intake of all phone calls, emails and walk-ins; referring appropriately within the office or elsewhere. Will also provide support for Affirmative Action Data Analyst in preparing Affirmative Action Plans. The person must be able to remain calm in stressful situations, be able to deescalate stressful situations, and will frequently exercise independent judgment. Must work effectively with faculty, staff, and students. Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and have strong diplomacy, tact, attention to detail, and critical/analytical thinking skills, and customer service skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and four years relevant responsible work experience in a professional office position serving diverse communities. Strong competency and experience in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Affirmative Action programs. Strong administrative, budget, communication, and organizational skills, as well as an ability to prioritize work flow. Experience with diversity initiatives, or related academic experience and/or training.
