Job Summary:
The mission of SUNY Upstate Medical University is to improve the health of the communities we serve through education, biomedical research, and health care. Beyond our downtown campus, we provide care through our clinics and offices across the greater Syracuse area.
In support of our growing Cardiology Division, we are seeking highly skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Providers to provide excellent quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support optimal patient experience, enhance throughput and care coordination of cardiology procedures within the Upstate Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) and provide coverage in the ambulatory setting as needed.
- The APP will have the ability to cross cover the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs, supervise cardiac stress testing, perform H&Ps and consultations as needed
- Assess and evaluate patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies, arrange referrals, consultations, and therapeutic services
- The APP will provide education, build and maintain strong relationships with patients, families and the healthcare team
- APP will demonstrate a lifelong learning mindset to remain current with developments in Clinical Cardiology, as well as cardiac procedures and will proactively seek out opportunities to broaden Cardiology knowledge fund and skillset
As an APP, you will be an integral member of the Upstate healthcare team, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to Upstate’s mission, vision, and values, while adhering to all institutional policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or graduated from an accredited PA program) or will be eligible by time of appointment?
- NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA.
- Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice.
- NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.
- CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances.
