We are looking for a professional Sous Chef to assist our Executive Chef. This is a fast paced, high volume restaurant. We are looking for a Sous Chef with experience cooking on a hot line, specifically grill and sauté stations. Motivated individual with drive, passion and positive attitude is a must. Communication is key! Must be familiar with food purchasing, rotation of food, and training line cooks on the hot line. We are looking for hardworking, self-motivated individuals with a creative mind and solid work ethic.

Responsibilities

Help in the preparation and execution of all food menus
Produce high quality food at the standards set for by the Executive Chef
Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
Manage and train kitchen staff, ensure schedule of employees is properly managed and assess staff’s performance
Order food to stock inventory appropriately
Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional work environment with coworkers and customers

Skills

Proven experience as a Sous Chef
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
Familiar with industry’s best practices
