Founded in 2013 by Amy Adams, Adams and Ollman is a contemporary art gallery located in Portland, Oregon. The gallery is seeking an organized, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented individual to work alongside the founder in a hybrid role that combines registrarial responsibilities with day-to-day gallery operations. This position is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience across every aspect of the gallery business, from artwork logistics and database management to visitor relations and exhibition support.Registrarial and Inventory ManagementManage inventory database (work details, locations, production costs, etc.) and onsite/offsite storage.Coordinate all logistics, including shipping (sales, exhibitions, art fairs), framing, and crating.Prepare loan and consignment agreements, condition reports, and artist documentation (certificates of authenticity, packing/installation instructions).Maintain gallery digital archives, artist CVs, and press packets.Exhibitions and OperationsSupport exhibition and art fair planning, including generating checklists and previews.Schedule and manage contract labor (art handlers, photographers, fabricators).Manage front desk operations: welcome visitors, maintain gallery appearance, order office/packing supplies, and update the website.Requirements2–3 years of professional experience in a gallery or art non-profit; BA in Art History or related field preferred;An interest in and knowledge of contemporary art;Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment;Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with an aptitude for quick learning and problem-solving;General knowledge of database and file-management systems such as Artlogic and Dropbox;Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Mac computer systems; knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and SketchUp strongly preferred;Working familiarity with US taxation, insurance, and local and international customs procedures is a plus; andGeneral knowledge of standard artwork installation and art packing/shipping procedures.
