Job Summary:
Responsible for effectively training new team members and provides any necessary re-training. Ensures Departmental orientation checklist is complete for each new Transport team member and completes assessments. Works closely with Transport leadership team on departmental metrics. Transport patients and visitors via the selected mode of travel, to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed by the PTR while observing all safety regulations. Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients according to safe patient handling guidelines to and/or from beds, wheelchairs and/or stretchers. Prepares patient transport equipment for patient use by cleaning surfaces and changing linens, and cleans all equipment after use. Verifies patient name, medical record number, date of birth, destination and mode of travel. Transports patients within the hospital system in a courteous, safe and efficient manner, while using the appropriate ergonomic physical movement techniques. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, ability to work well in teams, and exhibits patient focus, participates in team spirit and department morale; problem-solves; maintains a safe work environment; participates in quality improvement; communicates effectively; maintains positive public relations; takes an active role in personal/professional development; and makes decisions by ethical principles.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree and two years of patient transport or patient care experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Monday-Friday evenings. Weekends/holidays/day shift coverage may be required based on operational needs.
