Administrative Director (Part-Time)SummertriosAbout Summertrios Summertrios works to inspire and transform musicians of all levels. Each year, Summertrios hosts chamber music workshops that bring together non-professional musicians from across the country to study and perform chamber music under the guidance of world-class faculty. Summertrios is a nonprofit organization led by the Artistic and Administrative Directors, with an Artistic Coordinator who works closely with the Artistic Director. The organization is governed by a hands-on Board of Directors.Position Overview Summertrios seeks a part-time Administrative Director to oversee and manage the administrative operations of the organization. Position begins March 1, 2026. Responsibilities include finance, communications, social media, and planning and management of the annual Summer Workshops. Workshops are typically held for two weeks in mid-to-late June, currently at Franklin & Marshall college in Lancaster, PA. Workshops are additionally staffed by interns and Workshop and Operations Assistants. Physical presence is required during the Workshops; all other work may be completed remotely. Job ResponsibilitiesYear-Round (10–20 hours per week, remote)● Oversee and execute all administrative operations of the Summertrios organization● Collaborate closely with the Artistic Director on organizational strategy, communications, and decision-making.● In collaboration with the Artistic Director and Artistic Coordinator develop Workshop schedules ● Manage communications with participants and faculty● Administer faculty contracts and payroll● Manage organizational finances and budgeting in collaboration with the Board Treasurer, Board President and Artistic Director ● Maintain organizational data, including:○ Participant and faculty databases○ Marketing and advertising data○ Donor records● Maintain and update the Summertrios website● Plan and manage the registration portal; assist participants with registration questions and issues● Serve as the primary point of contact for the organization via phone and email● Participate in grant writing in collaboration with the Artistic Director● Implement fundraising campaigns in collaboration with the Board’s fundraising committee● Develop and maintain relationships with Workshop venues, including:○ Managing venue reservation applications and contracts○ Communicating with venue staff○ Purchasing event insurance on behalf of the organization● Manage the organization’s social media platforms● Regularly update the administrative procedures manual● Attend monthly Board meetings and provide regular organizational updates● Attend weekly staff meetings Summer Workshops (Full-Time, On-Site – typically Lancaster, PA)● Manage on-site operations of the Summer Workshops (full-time; physical presence required), including:○ Acting as liaison with venue staff○ Respond to participant inquiries before and during the Workshops○ Oversee arrivals, departures, and travel logistics○ Manage room assignments● Execute and communicate all Workshop schedules, including rehearsals, classes, and events● Hire interns in collaboration with the Artistic Director. Supervise and train interns and Workshop Assistants as needed● Create and distribute participant and faculty evaluations following the Workshops Qualifications● Musical background preferred (ability to read sheet music and understand the chamber music process)● Strong organizational, people, collaborative and administrative skills● Ability to manage day-to-day tasks in addition to a fast-paced environment during Summer Workshops● Flexibility to handle increased workload in the months leading up to the Summer Workshops● Current driver\'s license (access to a car preferred during Workshops in PA)● Knowledge of Wix, Webconnex, PayChex, Microsoft Office Suite, Facebook, Instagram, Google Workplace, Canva or similar program● Residence in New York State or the tri-state area is preferred Compensation● Annual salary of $19,000 with additional compensation during the Summer Workshops● Housing and meals provided during Workshops● Partial health insurance contribution Application ProcessPlease send a resume with 2 references and a brief introduction (including your background, career experience, and goals) to boardpresident@summertrios.org.
