Hauser & Wirth is seeking a qualified candidate to join the Research department in New York. This role is afixed-term position lasting 12 months.The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience, preferably in a gallery oran auction house. A demonstrated ability to write contextual texts, as well as experience researchingartworks is a must. A Masters degree in Art History or related subjects is desirable. This is not a role thatcan be fulfilled 100% remotely. This role will work closely with the Senior Director, Head of Research, aswell as the entire department.The role will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:Preparing offers on high value works of art, which include short academic textsDue diligence research, which incorporates in-depth study of provenance, exhibition and literature histories for secondary market artworks, to be recorded meticulouslyMonitoring the secondary market activities of specific artists and disseminating relevant auction information to key partiesLiaising with auction houses, primarily to review cataloguing issuesOccasional price analysis and general art market researchHelping to manage the extensive in-house library, including sourcing and organizing books for selected fairsThe successful candidate will have a mixture of the following attributes:Meticulous attention to detailAbility to articulate views clearly and confidentlyExcellent writing, editing and research skillsFamiliarity with the commercial art worldProven track record of working under pressure to meet deadlines and problem solveAbility to organize, prioritize and communicate with a range of staff at all levels in a polite and professional mannerAbility to work both independently and part of a teamProven computer skills in most MS Office and Adobe CS applications, and experience using collection management databasesKnowledge of foreign languages would be a bonus
