Immediate Hire: Andrew Edlin Gallery (Tribeca) seeks an experienced full-time Gallery Manager for a salaried position, Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm. Occasional after hours may be required around special events which include but are not limited to exhibition openings and art fairs.Coordinating with the Senior StaffWork directly with Senior Staff to support all aspects of their daily work routineKeep a calendar on behalf of the Senior Staff and keep them abreast of engagements and dates; advise them of time-sensitive and priority issues, ensure appropriate follow-upAssist Senior Staff with sales related tasks as needed, including designing previews for exhibitions and art fairsAct as client liaison for simple assignments, such as sending flowers or greeting cardsCreate and edit select documents for Senior StaffHandle IT troubleshooting for Senior StaffAssist Senior Staff with profit and loss reportsOperationsDirect Gallery Assistant on administrative tasks as neededOrganize logistical projects, including the planning, timeline, and execution of exhibitions and fairs, under guidance of Senior StaffCreate mock-ups for exhibitions and fair booths, under guidance of Senior StaffWork with Head Preparator to maintain updated inventory in Arternal, specifically as artworks leave the galleryShipmentsKeep track of and schedule all necessary shipments (this includes post-exhibitions and art fairs, both domestic and international shipments), including liaising with fine art shippers, and advising on international customs procedures Event Planning*This role is responsible for the planning and unfolding of all gallery events (i.e. openings, gallery dinners, holiday parties, lectures, etc) Communicate with the Senior Staff for event coordination and preferences Relay information to Artist Liaison to ensure guest speakers’ needs are met Assist Head Preparator in installing chairs and monitor, projector, powerpoint, audio equipment when necessary Check in with Senior Staff during events, ensuring all needs are metCoordinating with Head Preparator Support Head Preparator in receiving and organizing artworks in the gallery storage spaceAssist with inventory updates as needed, under guidance of Head PreparatorHelp Head Preparator with coordinating conservation efforts, framing, custom pedestal/mount building, photographyRequirementsBachelor’s Degree (in Arts Administration and/or Art History preferred)3 year prior art world experience (this can include art related internships)Strong interpersonal skills; professional and friendly dispositionExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent oral and written communicationFamiliarity with MS Office (required) and Adobe Creative Suite (a must!)Ambitious and self-directed work styleStays calm under pressure and while juggling competitive deadlines
