Who We Are:
At our new Kingston location, we’re re-imagining a beloved community space. Formerly the site of the long-running Hub Delicatessen, the building at 728 Broadway has a storied history in the heart of the city. We’re restoring it to its former glory and giving it new life as a cannabis dispensary rooted in community, education and purpose. People who live, work and stroll through Kingston’s vibrant cultural and arts district will find a friendly, open, educated space where cannabis is treated with respect and enthusiasm.
We're looking for individuals who bring warmth, fresh energy and a genuine interest in cannabis and its potential to serve our neighborhood. If you’re passionate about teaching, connecting and making a positive difference - we encourage you to apply.
Position Summary:
As a Sales Associate, you’ll be the first smile and lasting impression for each guest who steps in. You’ll guide customers of all experience levels - from curious first-timers to seasoned users - offering education, support and product insight. You’ll help shape the vibe of our store: welcoming, inclusive, knowledgeable. This is an entry-level role offering meaningful hands-on experience and growth in the cannabis industry.
What You’ll Do:
Customer Experience & Education
- Greet every guest with warmth and professionalism, creating a comfortable, stigma-free environment.
- Ask thoughtful questions to uncover customer needs, preferences and comfort levels.
- Recommend products (flower, edibles, vapes, topicals, etc.) based on effect, method, dosage and tolerance - educating with confidence and accuracy.
- Foster loyalty and community by creating memorable experiences and encouraging return visits and referrals.
Sales & Transactions
- Process all sales accurately and swiftly using our POS system, handling cash and digital payments responsibly.
- Spot opportunities to upsell or cross-sell when appropriate, always in the spirit of helping the customer.
- Stay current on store promotions, new product launches and vendor highlights to energize the team and guests.
Operations & Inventory
- Maintain clean, organized displays and fulfill stations; restock products and ensure freshness and rotation.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory; report discrepancies proactively.
- Keep the retail floor spotless, sanitized and inviting - consistent with our commitment to community trust.
Compliance & Security
- Verify customer age and ID in line with New York state cannabis regulations.
- Uphold discretion, confidentiality and security in all interactions and transactions.
- Follow all internal and regulatory procedures for product handling, POS operations and store access.
Team Collaboration & Store Culture
- Be a true team-player: support your coworkers, ask questions, share insights, and jump in where needed.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, inclusive culture rooted in our neighborhood.
- Stay up to date with company communications, ongoing training, SOPs and store goals.
What We’re Looking For:
- Ownership mindset: you take initiative, follow through and take pride in your work.
- Mission-driven: you believe in destigmatizing cannabis, educating the public and providing judgment-free service.
- Customer-obsessed: you listen attentively, anticipate needs and go above and beyond.
- Collaborative: you work well in a team, valuing shared success over individual glory.
- Adaptable: you thrive in fast-moving environments and handle high-pressure moments with grace.
Requirements:
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1–2 years of retail or customer-service experience; cannabis experience is a plus but not required.
- Availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable using technology (POS, digital menus, inventory tools).
- Must be willing to undergo background checks and adhere to all applicable cannabis regulatory requirements.
Why Work With Us?
- A STORE WITH PURPOSE: We’re not just selling product — we’re serving a historic building, a local community and a culture of respect and education.
- SUPPORTIVE LEADERSHIP: You’ll be coached and mentored — we believe in helping you grow, not just manage you.
- DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES: We provide training in cannabis science, compliance, customer psychology and retail best practices.
- TEAM CULTURE: We value respect, accountability and community-first mindset.
- LOCAL IMPACT: Every shift is a chance to make someone’s day, expand understanding, and help build a more informed and inclusive cannabis culture — especially in the heart of Kingston’s revitalized Broadway corridor.

We are proud to provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants. We strictly prohibit discrimination or harassment of any kind (race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, or any other characteristic protected by law). This policy applies to all aspects of recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, training and compensation.
