General Purpose: To provide prompt, friendly, courteous customer service while checking out customer purchases and otherwise assisting customers. To meet departmental objectives for accuracy, timeliness, and customer service.
Essential Job Functions:
· Familiarity with store policies and products to answer customers’ questions.
· Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous customer service while waiting on customers and responding to phone calls.
· Report customer suggestions, comments, and complaints to appropriate manager.
· Efficiently check out purchases with accurate pricing.
· Accept payments (cash, check, cards, EBT, gift cards).
· Call for back-up as needed for customer service efficiency.
· Contact the Floor Manager for various functions, as needed.
· Bag items and help when needed.
· Handle refused/returned items promptly or seek staff help.
· Open and close registers following procedures and balance cash.
· Include promotional materials, information about specials and donation programs during checkout process.
· Alert Manager to potential shoplifters, disorderly customers, or other emergencies.
· Attend department and storewide meetings.
· Perform other tasks assigned by Front End.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
