Essential Job Functions:
- Attend department and storewide meetings as required.
- Bag items and assist customers when needed.
- Check bulk inventory for damage and freshness.
- Create and maintain visual arrangements for displays and ensure all pricing and signage is correct.
- Familiarity with store policies and products and proactive customer service.
- Greeting all customers with a smile and eye contact.
- Keep the department and bulk areas clean and organized, including washing displays and cleaning up spills.
- Maintain accurate signage for bulk product.
- Maintain equipment and report issues to the Grocery Manager.
- Offer prompt, friendly customer service in person and on the phone.
- Package, weigh, and label all bulk products accurately, following all procedures including checking product codes.
- Stay informed of the latest developments and trends in department products.
- Removing expired products from displays.
- Work product from the back of house to the front of house through means of stocking, filling, and packing.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Ability to have a schedule that reflects the needs of the business.
- Ability to manage multiple demands, prioritize effectively, and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical movements such as reaching, bending, squatting, and twisting with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and crowded environment, especially during peak hours.
- Ability to work in cold and wet conditions.
- Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to learn basic knowledge of all bulk products.
- Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA and Weights and Measures regulations.
- Consistently stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Consistently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of organic, natural, non-GMO, and dietary needs.
- Regular, predictable attendance.
- Reliable and committed to follow-through.
- Retail experience, preferably in natural foods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving job demands.
- Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving abilities.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.50 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
