What we’re looking for
Adams leaders are expected to coach teams of both new and seasoned workers to provide friendly service to our valuable customers, ensuring that each experience reflects Adams’ commitment to providing the quality that defines our brand. For the Meat Manager, this means overseeing all meat department operations, including fresh cuts and specialty meats. This includes managing the team, upholding strict quality and food safety standards, maintaining proper handling and storage practices, optimizing workflows, and delivering exceptional customer experiences to achieve business goals.
Your Day-to-Day

Oversee all meat department operations to ensure quality, freshness, and exceptional service.

Build and maintain a professional, collaborative team culture focused on achieving department goals.

Train, coach, and develop team members to support growth and ensure smooth operations.

Conduct interviews, performance reviews, and disciplinary discussions.

Monitor and achieve department profit margin, payroll, and budget goals set by store management.

Create accurate work schedules that align with operational needs and labor budgets.

Review and analyze department reports to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Keep accurate and organized records to support compliance, food safety, and efficient operations.

Manage inventory levels to ensure proper stock rotation, freshness, and product availability while minimizing waste and shrink.

Oversee ordering of perishable and non-perishable supplies to meet department and customer needs.

Provide ongoing education to staff on proper handling, storage, rotation, and display of raw meat products to ensure safety and quality.

Uphold and enforce strict food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards in all department areas, including sales floor, counters, coolers, prep areas, and equipment.

Ensure each customer receives outstanding service by creating a friendly and helpful environment.

Address customer concerns promptly and professionally to protect the store’s reputation and loyalty.

Respond quickly to challenges such as call-outs, inventory issues to keep operations running smoothly.
What you bring to the Farm

Minimum of five years of meat department experience, including three to five years in a managerial role.

Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of meat department operations, including inventory management, food safety, and team leadership.

Proven leadership experience with the ability to train, mentor, and motivate team members.

Adaptation to fluctuating business volumes, ensuring consistent quality during peak and off-peak periods.

Proficiency with Windows-based programs and communication tools.

Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with co-workers and store management.

Commitment to demonstrating and promoting Adams’ culture and core values through leadership.

Experience gained through growth and leadership within Adams may also be considered, provided the candidate can demonstrate proven ability to lead teams, support daily kitchen operations, and uphold Adams’ standards for quality and service.
Working Conditions

The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions – including skill sets, experience, training, certifications and other business needs.
A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $75,000 - $95,000 per year. At Adams, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation.
