About
At Play is a nonprofit playspace with pediatric therapy and a café designed for kids of all abilities and the grownups who love them. We’re opening soon in Rhinebeck, and we’re creating a space where families can connect, relax, and play. Think great coffee, open-ended toys, high-quality classes, birthday parties, and a strong sense of community.
The Role
We’re hiring warm, reliable, and energetic part-time team members to help bring At Play to life. This is a hands-on, fast-moving job where you’ll wear a few different hats, sometimes all in the same shift! If you're community-oriented, love being around children, take pride in keeping spaces clean, safe, and inclusive and enjoy staying busy and stepping in wherever needed, we'd love to meet you. Everyone on our team will be cross-trained to support:
- Opening + Closing
- The café (making and serving coffee + snacks)
- Cleaning + tidying (play areas, café, bathrooms, etc.)
- Reception + check-in (welcoming guests, using our POS, answering questions)
- Play area supervision (keeping things safe and clean)
- Birthday parties + private events (setting up, supporting families during the party, clean-up)
- Option to teach some classes and activities that encourage play, creativity, and connection
You’re a Great Fit If You:
- Are a strong communicator, flexible, and dependable
- Enjoy working in a space that’s lively (and sometimes loud!)
- Are interested in teaching or leading small groups of kids in play-based activities or classes
- Are eager to roll up your sleeves and help with anything, from sweeping floors to making lattes
- Feel confident enforcing rules with kindness
- Work well on a team and enjoy building relationships with families
- Are excited to be part of something joyful and community-centered
Details
- Part-time: 10–25 hours/week
- Shifts available weekdays and weekends
- Pay: $22/hour
- Training provided (including barista basics, safety protocols, and event support)
- Background Checks required (we take care of that part!)
