Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of payroll processing and administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management, accounting, and human resources, with proficiency in various payroll and financial software systems. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations, compliance with regulations, and effective management of employee benefits.

Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Oversee payroll data entry, including adjustments for deductions, bonuses, and other compensation changes.
Maintain payroll records and ensure proper documentation for audits.
Collaborate with HR to administer employee benefits and resolve payroll-related inquiries.
Perform account reconciliations related to payroll accounts payable and receivable.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, ADP, or Paychex for efficient payroll processing.
Generate reports on payroll metrics and analyze data to identify trends or discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings related to payroll.
Provide training and support to staff on payroll procedures and software usage.

Skills

Proficiency in Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian for effective payroll management.
Strong understanding of financial concepts including general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, debits & credits.
Experience in corporate accounting or non-profit accounting environments is preferred.
Familiarity with HRIS systems for seamless integration of human resources functions.
Excellent analysis skills to interpret financial data accurately.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of payroll processing.
Ability to perform account reconciliation and manage double entry bookkeeping tasks efficiently.
Proficient in data entry with a strong emphasis on accuracy (10 key typing skills).
Knowledge of governmental accounting practices is a plus.
